Message

Palestine is a young country that aspires to be the best in the Arab world. The word “best” contains many elements, and we are concerned with those related to the development of the industry. It is the engineering profession that can take the Palestinian industry to another level, in terms of diversity, quality and competition. The reason for this is simply that the engineer is able to find solutions, design and produce new tools, just like the device you are using at the moment to read this letter of mine, and to develop the environment in which we live. In the engineering profession, no matter what background you come from, you will find yourself searching for a solution to a given problem, by modifying what you already have or building new things. Don’t imagine that it is just about some kind of industry and accordingly judge that you can or cannot study engineering. There are types of industry, and we can divide them into heavy industries, light industries, and soft industries. Heavy industries are those that produce large and heavy equipment and require large facilities and heavy machinery, and their products are usually large machinery, large buildings, and intermediate materials used in other industries. Light industries such as food, plastic and electrical industries use light raw materials to produce lightweight materials that are sold to individuals. As for the soft industry, it is related to software for individuals, light and heavy industries, health care, etc. No matter which major you choose, Najjad Zeenni Faculty of Engineering (NZFE) will give you the knowledge, skills, and confidence that you can do and that you can contribute to the development of your community and the economy of your country.

Faculty of Engineering

Najjad Zeenni Faculty of Engineering (NZFE) was established at Al-Quds University in 1999. At that time, it was based on two majors: Bachelor of Electronic Engineering and Bachelor of Computer Engineering. Since then, NZFE has evolved to include Bachelor degree programs in Materials Engineering, Communications Engineering, Architecture, Food Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Industrial Engineering, as well as Master degree programs in Electronics and Computer Engineering, Renewable Energy and Sustainability (joint program) and Agribusiness (joint program). These are programs that complement each other to cover the widest possible spectrum of knowledge and skills necessary for the advancement of our Palestinian economy. NZFE focuses on programs that are unique in their specialization, different in their concepts, or different in their learning system. The Bachelor of Architecture program has a different concept compared to other similar programs in the country and region. The Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and Bachelor of Industrial Engineering programs are implemented by a new system in the Arab world, the Dual Study system. Other programs are unique programs in the sense that they are not duplicated in other universities. In NZFE study programs, there are groups of sciences and skills that students learn; there is the specialization and all related science and skills, but there is also everything related to skills in the workplace for the engineering profession, including communication skills, leadership and innovation. The purpose of all this is to give every engineer the assets she needs to succeed in the engineering profession and even be influential in the society and contribute to the development of Palestine.
