A high-ranking delegation from the Budget Committee of the German Parliament visited Al-Quds University to have a closer look at the joint Dual Studies program and discuss means of development.

The president of the university, Prof. Dr. Imad Abu Kishek received the German delegation in the presence of vice presidents, administrative staff, and representatives of the program’s partners in the private sector.

Abu Kishek pointed to the success stories in the various programs, the Dual Studies in particular, as the university seeks to change the system of the different programs to follow the example of studies, which has become a model for various Palestinian universities, in order to reach a modern education system that supports the integration of the theoretical education and practical training

Dean of the College of Dual Studies, Dr. Issam Ishaq elaborated on the most important development of the program in terms of the number of students enrolled and the majors that have been developed, in addition to the numbers of local and international partners who train students in practical classes, including the prominent companies in Germany.

Mr. Mohammed Al-Sous, from Hamouda Company, spoke about the training of the students of the program, and the most important achievements of this partnership.

Member of the German Bundestag, Ms. Claudia Ravelhausen, expressed her pride in what the partners in the Dual Studies are carrying out, extending her thanks to them.

The delegation was briefed on the work of the program through a tour of the laboratories of the College of Dual Studies at the university.

The German delegation praised the tremendous achievements of the Dual Studies, reaffirming the deep partnership between the university and the German government. They thanked AQU for the ongoing bilateral cooperation.

The Dual Studies program at Al-Quds University was launched in 2015 with the support of the German government. The program is the first of its kind in Palestine and the Middle East. It combines theory and practice to develop the professional level of the Palestinian youth and bridge the gap between the academic educational outcomes and the demands of the Palestinian labor market. The program offers students a unique opportunity to simultaneously study and acquire practical experience at specialized Palestinian companies throughout their undergraduate studies.
