JERUSALEM – In a streak of academic achievements for Al-Quds University, its Faculty of Engineering secured membership in the Réseau Méditerranéen des Ecoles d’Ingénieurs, the Mediterranean Network of Engineering Schools, following a unanimous vote during the conference of the public body held in Morocco.
Since its establishment in 1997, the Réseau Méditerranéen des Ecoles d’Ingénieurs has housed dozens of faculties of engineering from countries overlooking the Mediterranean. With Al-Quds University’s newly accepted membership, Palestine now joins Algeria, Crete, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey.
Al-Quds University’s Dean of Faculty of Engineering Dr. Abedalaziz Qantar expressed his appreciation to Professor Abu Kishek and to the president of eCampus University Professor Enzo Siviero for their continuous support without which membership in the Réseau Méditerranéen des Ecoles d’Ingénieurs would not have been possible. Representing the university at the Morocco conference, Dr. Qantar gave a brief on Al-Quds University’s Faculty of Engineering.
Al-Quds University provides an opportunity in studying and gaining knowledge in the world of engineering. As a valued member of Réseau Méditerranéen des Ecoles d’Ingénieurs, Al-Quds University’s Faculty of Engineering will be able to increase bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the areas of scientific research, student and faculty exchanges, and training.
“We are constantly studying ways to apply the academic advances emerging from Al-Quds University to the benefit of our society,” said Professor Abu Kishek. “This membership opens doors for Al-Quds University to participate in international competitions and sustainable development projects,” he added.
Al-Quds University’s Faculty of Engineering is divided into four departments – Department of Computer Engineering, Department of Electronic and Communication Engineering, Department of Materials Engineering and Department of Architectural Engineering.
Al-Quds University is a research university based in Jerusalem, Palestine. Established in the late 70’s, Al-Quds remains the only Arab university in the city of Jerusalem.
