President of Al-Quds University (AQU) Prof. Imad Abu Kishek visited both Turkey and Germany earlier this month to discuss academic cooperation and explore training programs for students with partners in both countries.

In his address at the Turkish Businessmen Conference held in Istanbul Prof. Abu Kishek called on the participants to invest in Jerusalem and provide the Palestinian economy with new horizons of joint cooperation that would further strengthen the economic relations between Palestine and Turkey. The University president also touched on the university’s unique experience in aligning education outputs with the needs of the Palestinian market, and its focus on accommodating global technology and the rapid development of industry, marketing, and international trade.

Abu Kishek met on the margins of the Istanbul conference with the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Turkey, Dr. “Lalu Muhammad Iqbal”, to explore the prospects of linking Indonesian universities and other institutions to Al-Quds University and the City of Jerusalem and the mechanisms for achieving cooperation in the various academic programs and research fields.

Dr. Iqbal expressed the Indonesian concern for Jerusalem and its institutions, appreciating the crucial role played by the university and its institutions in the Holy City, and its achievements at the regional level.

In his tour of German institutions, Prof. Abu Kishek visited Radix Implant, the leading German company in the dental manufacture and implants. An agreement of cooperation was signed by both AQU, represented by its president, and Radix Implant. Under this agreement, Radix Implant shall provide training for AQU’s dental students using up-to-date dental appliances.

During his visit to the headquarters of Ortel in the German city of Dusseldorf, Dr. Abu Kishk and the President of the International Communications Company, Mr. Gregor Frenzel, agreed to increase the number of AQU students who receive training at the company annually. The agreement also provides for expanding cooperation between the two sides to include joint workshops, and research and professional contributions that would contribute to advance the level of university students by familiarizing them cognitively and practically with the latest technologies in the world.

Dr. Imad Abu Kishek discussed ways of cooperation with the German Hammer Forum during a meeting that was held by AQU’s Association of Friends in the German city of Wuppertal. Under the agreement between both sides, AQU medical students will receive training at German hospitals in cooperation with the medical institution in the German city of Aachen, which comes within the efforts made by the association to strengthen strategic partnerships with the German society, and improve the opportunities for training university students in medicine, technology, and engineering and economics programs.

This tour comes within the university’s endeavors to develop its academic partnerships and enhance the opportunities of its students in practical training and scientific research in the various disciplines in order to enable them to keep pace with the local and global labor market with its latest requirements and technological developments.
