Al-Quds University Celebrates 41st Graduation Ceremony

Jerusalem | Al-Quds University (AQU) celebrated the graduation of the 41st cohort of students from its 15 undergraduate and graduate faculties. The university convened on three subsequent days the commencement ceremony which saw the participation of Palestinian officials, Board of Trustees, AQU’s President, Vice-Presidents, deans, academic staff, representatives of community institutions, graduate students, and families.

H.E. Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Mahmoud Abu Mowais, delivered a speech in which he conveyed the greetings of the Palestinian President and government to the graduates, their families, and the entire university community, praising the achievements Al-Quds University has made at all levels

Abu Mowais particularly applauded AQU for its schemes to combine academic education with practical training by offering an advanced program that aligns with his ministry’s policy of promoting scientific research and academic programs that meet the demands of the market.  

Member of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Mohammed Al-Alami, congratulated in his speech the graduates and said that AQU has clear fingerprints that indicate the high academic ranking it obtains globally. He cited of the role of Al-Quds University in supporting young people for what it offers them and for the broad prospects it opens for them.

The President of the University, Prof. Imad Abu Kishek, began his speech by congratulating the students and their families, stressing that AQU will remain “a great academic edifice that we are proud of as it is a pioneering academic institution in Palestine”.

He added that the university is keen to provide the students with advanced academic programs, create an ideal learning environment, link education and learning outcomes with the market needs, and establish entrepreneurial business incubators that encourage innovative and pioneering ideas.”

Abu Kishek noted some of the big achievements and advances the university has made, which are fruit of the continuing strategy of international engagement and joint academic and research cooperation. He also cited some of the high rankings the university has achieved based on the assessment of QS World Academic Quality Rankings 2023 and SCIMAGO World University Rankings for the year 2022.

 

The graduates’ speech were delivered by students from the faculties of Pharmacy, Arts, and Graduate studies. Mais Al-Tel, a student of Pharmacy, deeply thanked her parents who persevered and labored for the beautiful moments, the professors who provided the students with knowledge, and Al-Quds University and its administration for everything they provided to the students throughout their years of study.

It is worth noting that more speeches were also given by other officials and students, in which they applauded the university’s ongoing evolution and constant achievements, not only locally but also internationally. They encouraged the students to continue their hard work, and unite their efforts to overcome the challenges that Palestinians face.

At the end of the grand ceremony, the graduates, including the first cohort of the Ph.D. students of Islamic Figh, received their certificates.
