The President of Al-Quds University, Prof. Dr. Imad Abu Kishek, and the accompanying delegation discussed prospects for academic, scientific, and technological cooperation with Innopolis University during the delegation’s visit to the Republic of Tatarstan. The visit aimed to explore partnership opportunities in emerging technologies, scientific research, and higher education.
During the visit, Prof. Dr. Imad Abu Kishek and the accompanying delegation learned about Innopolis University’s advanced academic and technological expertise, as well as its specialized programs and projects in several key fields, most notably information technology, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, robotics, engineering, and advanced digital technologies.
Dr. Petr Zhdanov, Director of the International Relations Department at Innopolis University, delivered an introductory presentation about the university, highlighting its key academic and research programs, its position within the technological education landscape, and its partnerships with the technology and industrial sectors.
Zhdanov noted that Innopolis University has established partnerships with more than 300 companies and organizations working in computing, artificial intelligence, and information technology. He added that the university has concluded more than 64 academic, scientific, and research cooperation agreements with universities and institutions worldwide, reflecting an advanced model of integration between higher education, scientific research, and the technology and industrial sectors.
Prof. Dr. Imad Abu Kishek expressed his appreciation for the advanced standing achieved by Innopolis University, as well as its strong scientific and technological capabilities and sophisticated research infrastructure. He emphasized the importance of drawing on leading international experiences to further develop higher education and scientific research at Al-Quds University, particularly in technology-related fields, which are central to the future of education, the global economy, and innovation.
Prof. Dr. Abu Kishek emphasized that Al-Quds University is placing increasing importance on developing its programs and academic pathways in artificial intelligence, digital sciences, cybersecurity, engineering, technology, and innovation. He noted that cooperation with Innopolis University could significantly enhance Al-Quds University’s academic and research development efforts while creating opportunities for exchanging knowledge and expertise in advanced technologies.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue working together to identify priority areas for cooperation, including academic and student exchanges, training programs, joint research projects, knowledge and expertise sharing, and collaboration in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, robotics, and emerging technologies, with the ultimate aim of establishing a sustainable institutional partnership between the two universities.
The meeting takes on particular significance in light of the rapid global transformations in higher education and technology, which underscore the need to strengthen partnerships among universities and technological and industrial institutions to advance education, research, and innovation. The proposed areas of cooperation could create new opportunities for Al-Quds University’s students, researchers, and academics; facilitate the transfer of advanced knowledge and expertise; support the development of joint research and technology projects; and strengthen the university’s presence in international academic and scientific cooperation networks.
