The event was held as part of the academic courses offered by the American Studies Program, providing students with an opportunity to apply what they learn in the classroom through practical and interactive activities and experiences, while exploring different aspects of American culture, society, and technology firsthand.

The cultural day featured a range of interactive activities for students, including informational booths on artificial intelligence (AI), U.S. landmarks, sports, and music, as well as a variety of hands-on experiences and activities and PlayStation games. These activities gave students the opportunity to explore various aspects of American culture and society in an engaging setting on campus.

In a statement from the U.S. Embassy, Cultural Attaché Nathan Tek emphasized the importance of organizing the event in promoting cultural exchange and communication and providing Palestinian students with the opportunity to learn about aspects of American culture. He noted that the activities explored the use of artificial intelligence in various fields and showcased examples of technological, intellectual, and creative contributions, reflecting aspects of the American experience and opening avenues for dialogue and interaction between the two peoples.

For his part, Prof. Hanna Abdel Nour highlighted the importance of the event organized by the American Studies Program at Al-Quds Bard, noting that it provides students with a space to learn about and engage with aspects of American culture and to foster dialogue and cultural exchange on campus.

In turn, Prof. Daniel Terris, Vice President for International Initiatives, emphasized that the event provides an opportunity to learn about other cultures and foster dialogue and mutual understanding. He noted that it allows students to engage directly with aspects of American culture outside the traditional academic setting, highlighting the importance of the American Studies Program in building bridges of communication and exchange between Palestine and the United States and fostering students’ openness to global experiences and cultures.

The event reflects the commitment of Al-Quds Bard College and Al-Quds University to providing educational and interactive spaces that bring together knowledge, culture, and technology, enabling students to apply their academic knowledge through practical experiences.
