The President of Al-Quds University (AQU), Prof. Imad Abu Kishek, met a delegation from the “John Aves” foundation, represented by Mrs. “An Avis”, the founder of the project of “Support for the Students from the Dheisheh Camp” in the city of Bethlehem. The meeting was intended to have a closer look at the progress of the grant provided by the “John Aves” to support the students from the Dheishah Camp, within the framework of expanding mutual cooperation.

The university president emphasized the importance of continuing communication with students and learning about their conditions to provide the necessary support to them.
Dr. Safa’ Al-Dhahir said that this meeting comes within the cooperation between the university and the John Avis, stressing that providing assistance to university students would help them complete their studies and motivate them to work harder.
Mrs. Ann Aves expressed her happiness to visit AQU, pointing to the opportunities that they provide to the students from the various programs. She touched on their endeavors to increase funding in order to help a larger portion of disadvantaged students.
The Project’s aim is to empower disadvantaged young people in the Palestinian Territories, particularly Dheisheh camp in Bethlehem, to fulfill their potential through educational achievement in order for them to better serve their community. John Aves Educational Project (JAEP) offers at least two new scholarships every year to Palestinian students from Dheisheh camp, with impressive academic and community achievements, whose financial situation hinders them from pursuing undergraduate study within Palestinian Universities.
