In the department of obstetrics and gynaecology medical students have the opportunity to witness normal and complicated obstetrics and various gynaecological pathology. the undergraduate students complete an eight weeks programme at fifth year and six weeks rotation at sixth year The emphasis on teaching basic clinical skills, knowledge thorough exposure to antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal care, prenatal diagnostic services ,reproductive health , general gynaecology, students have ,access to labour ward theatres, clinics, continuous support provided by senior clinicians and residents in students relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

– Demonstrate awareness of how to follow up and monitor recommended measures to promote its normal functioning and its disorders especially infertility
– Relate symptoms and signs to diseases of the recommended appropriate management – Demonstrate awareness of how to diagnose pregnancy, monitor fetal development, recommend measures of care to promote normal fetal growth and development – Select appropriate perinatal care
– Recommended the appropriate method of family planning
– Improved skills of logic thinking, surgical skills, dealing with the emergency conditions – Being an assistant in most of the operative procedures; Obstetrics and Gynaecological ones.
– Summarize and integrate the history, examination and investigation results; formulate a management plan in a clear and logical way and make a clear record in the case notes. – Appreciate the need for a chaperone.
– Demonstrate an awareness of the importance of empathy.
