The Department has two divisions: public health and Behavioral Science. The department is responsible for teaching several courses in phase one of MD programme: communication skills, research and biostatistics, behavior sciences and public health. Colleagues from Faculty of Public Heath and Faculty of Education participate in delivery of the mentioned courses for medical students.
Behavioural and Social Sciences
The mission of the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences is to understand and intervene on the social determinants of health and to introduce the philosophy, concepts, components, services, and historical development and achievements of the public health science.
– To teach students effective ways to share their knowledge of preventative medicine and to establish public health initiatives that encourage healthy lifestyles throughout the communities they serve
– To addresses the psychological and social basis of patient and physician behavior and the inter relationship between these factors and health, illness and the practice of medicine.
