MD Programme Accreditation Committee

Purpose

This Committee leads and manages Faculty through the reaccreditation process of MD programme, compile the Self Evaluation Report (SER; Self-Study) in accordance with the World Federation for Medical Education Standards (WFME) according to the last version.

Responsibilities

  1. To serve as the central Faculty body for reaccreditation matters and, in consultation with the Dean of the faculty, to provide leadership and organization in the faculty’s reaccreditation efforts.
  2. To serve as a liaison between Faculty and the accrediting agency.
  3. To assign groups (formulated from the committee members) preparing drafts on each area of the WFME Standards.
  4. To make all correspondence and documents required by accrediting agency and conclude all arrangements needed for reaccreditation process.
  5. To share information, where needed, with departments, programs, and offices on reaccreditation matters.
  6. To plan a series of “Knowledge Sharing activities” to educate and update college community on the accreditation process.
  7. To prepare “awareness campaign” of the “Site Visit” particulars and the “Panel” deliberations during the visit.
  8. To produce regular reports to the Dean on the progress of the committee work and the status of reaccreditation process. And the Dean will present this report to Faculty Council. The Dean reports it to the university President through the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Programme Evaluation Committee

Purpose

To ensure that the programme evaluation process identifies outstanding features of the MD programme and areas that could be improved.

Responsibilities

  1. To ensure that the Evaluation Process (EP) is conducted in accordance to faculty strategies and regulations.
  2. Evaluates the program, by ensuring that student feedback on learning activities, teachers and the learning environment is solicited and analyzed, via internal and national surveys (such as the Graduation Questionnaire)
  3. Monitors the quality of learning and assessment activities across clinical sites to ensure that there is comparability of experiences.
  4. Ensures that academic staff teachers are oriented, prepared, equipped and evaluated in their teaching and provided with feedback on their performance.
  5. Ensures that students have access to academic and career advising and monitors the level of satisfaction with these services
  6. Follow up on adherence to the university code of conduct and medical ethics
  7. To Review and make recommendations for revision of competency based curricular goals and objectives.
  8. To advise The Dean through programme review and oversight.
  9. To produce an annual report to the Dean on the progress of the committee work and the status of EP identifying strengths, weakness and areas for future improvement. And the Dean will present this report to Faculty Council.
