The Medicine department is the cornerstone of clinical education for the medical students as they start their clinical experience by providing the “introduction to Clinical Medicine” and subsequently by integrating patient care with bedside education for the students and the “Internal Medicine Residents”. The department is expanding by adding new faculty in a variety of specialties and subspecialties to enhance and diversify students’ experience. The faculty members are “team leaders” that provide high quality care to their patients through a team approach of junior and senior medical students, an intern and (a junior /senior) medical resident enrolled the Palestian Medical Council Residency Program, thus providing a comprehensive approach to medical education and learning as well as outstanding care to our patients.
Internal Medicine
The department strives to promote good health in the community by delivering the highest quality of care to our patients through integrated teams of excellence who are well trained to educate and train medical students and residents to provide excellent care to our patients. The department also emphasizes the importance of integrating nursing care, medical technicians and other ancillary services in the team approach to ensure the delivery of comprehensive care extends beyond the patient care in the hospital to include promoting good health in the community. Basic and clinical research is an essential part of our vision to stay current and excel in the future, our emphasis on research is greatly supported by the medical school and the university as well.
