The Portuguese Ambassador Pedro Souza visit Al-Quds University

President of Al-Quds University Prof. Imad Abu Kishek hosted the Portuguese Ambassador for the Palestinian authority Mr. Pedro Souza, also in presence was the vice president of communication and development Prof. Hasan Dweik.  The visit was to promote and enhance the academic and scientific relations with Portuguese Universities, notably in the field of scientific research, and exchange students and faculties.

The Portuguese Ambassador stated that the minister of foreign affairs of Portugal is expected to arrive in Palestine during November. This visit aims to strengthen the academic, economic and political relationship with the Palestinian authority.

During the meeting Prof. Abu Kishek presented an introduction about the university, and its great potential in the different scientific areas such as: experts, scientific research and the level of education. He also emphasized the importance of networking with international universities, such as the Portuguese Universities which guaranties the development of education and gaining new skills.

This meeting also had an agreement, between the two parties, to consolidate the academic relation in the field of the Archaeology Research, because of the distinguished and important cultural heritage that Palestine has. The Ambassador was so interested in this type of research; he expressed his desire to send Portuguese researchers in order to collaborate with at Al-Quds University in the field of Archaeology.  

At the end of this visit, the Portuguese Ambassador, accompanied with Prof. Hasan Dweik toured in the university to see its faculties and facilities.
