The Palestinian Pharmacy Students’ Federation–Al-Quds University (PAPS–AQU) marked its official launch with a ceremony celebrating its admission to the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF). According to the official membership confirmation letter, PAPS–AQU was admitted as a “Member in Association” during IPSF’s 72nd General Assembly, held in August 2026. IPSF represents approximately 600,000 pharmacy students and recent graduates in more than 100 countries worldwide. This marks the first international membership of its kind for Al-Quds University’s Faculty of Pharmacy, strengthening its students’ international presence and opening new opportunities for collaboration, professional development, and participation in international programs.

Prof. Dr. Imad Abu Kishek congratulated the Faculty of Pharmacy on the launch, describing it as a gateway to diplomatic engagement, stronger international ties, and broader participation in international initiatives. He credited the faculty’s exceptional efforts to foster a research environment that the university seeks to extend across its faculties, alongside efforts to participate in clinical trials and help move the pharmaceutical industry from conventional practices toward leadership in innovation.

Prof. Dr. Abu Kishek also announced financial support to help the federation begin its work. He emphasized the value of its extracurricular activities in developing students’ communication, language, writing, and scientific research skills through collaboration with a distinguished, high-achieving, and globally competitive team.

Prof. Dr. Ahmad Amro highlighted the faculty’s ongoing efforts to align educational outcomes with labor market needs, including upgrading its laboratories and facilities. He described membership in IPSF as both a significant achievement and a major responsibility to pursue further progress, affirming the faculty leadership’s full support for the federation.

Dr. Walid Al-Kamel said that Beit Jala Pharmaceutical Company’s participation in and sponsorship of the launch reflect its belief in investing in the minds of future pharmacists through an approach grounded in inquiry, research, and experimentation. He announced an initiative to provide students with training and introduce them to pharmaceutical manufacturing, encourage scientific research through an annual award recognizing the two best graduation projects, and share industry knowledge and expertise through lectures delivered by experts and specialists.

In a recorded message from IPSF, Saleh Arin congratulated PAPS–AQU on joining the international federation, highlighting the opportunities this membership would bring. He expressed his hope that the journey would be rewarding and filled with enriching experiences, new opportunities, and cultural exchange.

The federation’s president, student Layan Alyan, outlined its vision for an international student community that supports scientific research and professional training. She emphasized enabling pharmacy students to take part in experiences and initiatives that broaden their expertise, strengthen their international presence, and open doors to new partnerships with specialized institutions and federations.
