The Faculty of Business and Economics at Al-Quds University has taken another strategic step toward enhancing the quality of education and strengthening its international academic standing by officially entering the initial accreditation process with AACSB International, one of the world’s leading bodies for the accreditation of business schools and programs.
This followed the decision of AACSB International’s Initial Accreditation Committee (IAC), during its meeting on July 9, 2026, to recognize the Faculty of Business and Economics at Al-Quds University as an independent academic unit within the accreditation process, making it the university’s officially recognized unit for this purpose.
Under the decision, the Faculty’s information has been updated in the AACSB database, with the Faculty of Business and Economics, Al-Quds University, now listed as its official name in the organization’s membership directory, correspondence, and official events.
The Faculty’s entry into the initial accreditation process reflects its commitment to advancing academic education and scientific research, strengthening its societal impact, and embracing continuous improvement in line with international standards and best practices in business education. The AACSB accreditation journey involves several stages, including self-assessment, institutional development, and review by academic experts and peers, culminating in a final accreditation decision.
The Faculty of Business and Economics emphasized that this milestone represents a significant step toward achieving international accreditation. It also aligns with Al-Quds University’s commitment to enhancing the quality of its academic programs and bringing them into line with global standards and best practices, thereby enriching the student experience, improving learning outcomes and research, and strengthening the Faculty’s engagement with the community and business sector.
In the next phase, the Faculty will continue working to fulfill the accreditation requirements. This will include advancing its self-assessment processes, strengthening its quality assurance and continuous improvement systems, aligning its practices with AACSB standards, and further developing learning outcomes, research, and partnerships with the community and business sectors.
The Faculty emphasizes that entering the initial accreditation process does not mean that it has received final accreditation. Rather, it signifies formal approval for the Faculty to participate as a recognized academic unit in AACSB’s initial accreditation process. Final accreditation may be granted at a later stage, once the Faculty has completed all requirements and stages established by AACSB and received the organization’s final decision.
The Faculty of Business and Economics looks forward to advancing through this process with the support of Al-Quds University’s administration, its academic and administrative staff, students, and partners. These collective efforts will help enhance the quality of education and scientific research, consolidate the Faculty’s position in business and economics education in Palestine, and expand its academic presence regionally and internationally.
