This international recognition is the result of our researchers’ dedication and the supportive research environment the university provides to enhance its role in serving the community and advancing human knowledge.”
The Stanford researchers’ ranking is based on a set of global indicators, including the h-index, citation metrics, the number of published papers, research impact within the scholars’ respective fields, and other measures.
The ranking includes researchers who are among the top 100,000 scientists based on the composite indicator (with or without self-citations) or who rank within the top 2% or higher in their subfields. Researchers are classified according to data extracted from Scopus into 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields, following the Science-Metrix classification. This indicator is widely used to assess scientific impact and academic recognition and is considered a globally trusted reference.
