The Faculty of Public Health at Al-Quds University has won the Teaching and Practice Excellence Award 2026, presented by the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region, in recognition of its academic excellence and pioneering practices in public health education and training.

ASPHER, in its official statement, praised the Faculty’s exceptional commitment to maintaining the quality of education and training in the field of public health under highly challenging circumstances. It affirmed that the Faculty has continued to develop its academic programs and integrate rapid crisis response into its curricula, reflecting an advanced model that links theoretical education with field practice.

It is worth noting that the Faculty obtained full membership in the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER) in 2013, and it was the first educational institution outside the European region to achieve full membership.

The university administration expressed its pride in this international recognition, stressing its continued commitment to supporting academic and research excellence and serving the community, in line with its mission to promote high-quality education and achieve sustainable development.

The awarding body also praised the Faculty’s ability to continue providing practical training, develop flexible distance-learning models, and carry out local fieldwork that serves the community, thereby reinforcing its pivotal role in supporting the health system and strengthening the preparedness of healthcare professionals.

The award will be officially presented during the annual conference, which will be held in the city of Milan, Italy, next July.

This achievement reflects the distinguished academic standing of Al-Quds University at the international level, as well as its leading role in preparing specialized professionals capable of addressing health challenges and actively contributing to the development of the public health system locally, regionally, and globally.
