A New Milestone for Al-Quds University: Accreditation of the Al-Quds Center for Measurement and Analysis Laboratory in Accordance with the ISO/IEC 17025 Quality Standard

The Jerusalem Center for Measurement and Analysis Laboratory at Al-Quds University has obtained ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation from the Palestinian Accreditation Unit of the Ministry of Industry, signifying a substantial scientific and professional accomplishment for the center. It is noteworthy that this center is the first and only in Palestine to have obtained official authorization from the Palestinian Ministry of Health to conduct pharmaceutical testing.

This certification signifies a superior accreditation level in the field  of laboratory management. It was awarded to the center in acknowledgment of its effective quality management system, which guarantees precise and dependable test and calibration outcomes across diverse testing disciplines, aligning with international quality and technical accreditation criteria.

The center’s director general, Dr. Muhammad Abu al-Haj, underscored the significance of this accomplishment, highlighting its role in the center’s ongoing efforts to enhance the university’s research and analytical capabilities. He noted that the center provides its research and analytical services to students and researchers within the university and other Palestinian universities, as well as to institutions and companies in the public and private sectors. The center aims to serve the broader Palestinian community through these services.

He explained that the center’s units include areas of analysis of pharmaceuticals, water, soil, and food, which enhances its scope of work and expands its ability to serve the Palestinian community in an integrated and comprehensive manner.

Dr. Abu Al-Haj added, “We are striving to make our center a hub and national reference point in the field of analysis, and we are working steadily towards providing integrated analytical services that meet the needs of the scientific, health, and industrial communities in Palestine.”

This accreditation reflects the confidence of local and international institutions in the competence of Al-Quds University researchers and academics and represents a pivotal step towards strengthening scientific research in the fields of pharmaceutical analysis and control in Palestine.
