Community Advocacy
Due to the Community Action Center's interest in promoting and strengthening the Palestinian community in Jerusalem, which, under the Israeli occupation of the city, faces systematic and continuous attempts to dismantle its social structure, the Center established the Community Advocacy Department as part of the Advocacy Unit.
Community Advocacy
Community advocacy aims, through training and community education mechanisms, to strengthen positive community structures and preserve the fabric of its unity, and on the other hand, to activate its role, highlight its positive elements and activate its capacities within a program of work that seeks to:
Program Objectives
- Raising awareness of the basic pillars of society and the need to preserve its cohesion.
- Building community leaders who are able to organize and manage the different segments of society and have the appropriate mechanisms to resolve issues among its members.
- Enhancing the role of marginalized groups such as women in society by raising awareness of the importance of this group and the need to integrate them into the center of society and not keep them at the periphery, thus preserving them within the unified social framework and preventing their exploitation to disintegrate society and break the bonds of unity.
- Sensitizing community members to their rights and duties towards society.

Justice, equality and equal opportunities for all.
Freedom
Freedom from internal oppression and injustice among its members and groups, and external oppression practiced by the occupation.
Responsible Freedom
Promoting responsible individual freedom and creating the appropriate social framework for its effective exercise.
Experience and Partnerships
The Center works to employ its long experience in the field of advocacy and through communication and exchange of experiences and information with other relevant Palestinian civil society organizations, to improve the mechanisms and tools of its work in this new field for the sake of a cohesive and solid Jerusalem society, with a unified fabric, free and able to withstand in the face of dismantling and weakening it from within.
