Al-Quds University’s Prof. Ahmad Amro Conducts Scientific Visit to Tunisia under AGYA Project

Within the framework of a project funded by the Arab-German Young Academy (AGYA), Prof. Dr. Ahmad Amro, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Al-Quds University, carried out a scientific visit to Tunisia during the summer of 2025. Hosted by the University of Monastir, he delivered a series of lectures addressing the genetic diversity of parasitic diseases and the epidemiology of diseases in North Africa and the Mediterranean Basin.

As part of the visit, Prof. Dr. Amro met with the President of the University of Monastir, Prof. Dr. Kamel Cheradda, to discuss future prospects for academic and research cooperation between the two institutions. He also held a meeting with the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Chérifa Chaouch, where discussions focused on the advancement of pharmaceutical education, the strengthening of scientific partnerships, and the exchange of expertise. In recognition of his distinguished academic and research contributions, Prof. Dr. Amro was officially honored by the university president.

In addition, Prof. Dr. Amro visited the University of Tunis El Manar, where he met with the university president, Prof. Dr. Moez Cheffra, along with members of the German Academy in North Africa, to explore opportunities for joint research initiatives and academic exchange.

This visit highlights Prof. Dr. Ahmad Amro’s continued efforts to advance academic and research collaboration between the Faculty of Pharmacy at Al-Quds University and institutions across North Africa, paving the way for joint scientific projects that address pressing health challenges at both regional and international levels.
