Korean Ambassador to Palestine visits AQU to discuss bilateral cooperation

Jerusalem | President of Al-Quds University (AQU) Prof. Imad Abu Kishek received in his office on the main campus the Representative of the Republic of Korea to the State of Palestine H.E. Mr. Si-jin Song to discuss ways to build bilateral partnerships in the scientific and research areas.

Professor Abu Kishek briefed Mr. Song about the university, its faculties, programs, and development plans, highlighting the university’s mission to serve the Palestinian community through its various centers, mainly those in Jerusalem.  He pointed to the numerous research and academic cooperation agreements and the various scientific projects concluded with many universities and research institutions in the region and elsewhere in the world, which comes within the framework of the university’s development strategy of international engagement.

Abu Kishek explained to the Korean official that AQU always seeks to engage its students and graduates with the labor market at an early stage through its partnerships with the private sector and other institutions. He also touched on the university’s interest in creating an environment that helps students to become creative and leaders, citing some of the programs, initiatives and incubators, within this context, that provide opportunities to the students to transform their entrepreneurial ideas into real projects that help the Palestinian society in pursuit of development and prosperity.

The Korean Ambassador, expressed his happiness to visit AQU, praising the achievements the university has made over the years. H.E. Mr. Si-jin Song considered his visit to AQU’s campus a very important opportunity to develop cooperation in all scientific and research fields of mutual interest, stressing his aspiration to build an advanced sustainable partnership in the various scientific areas. .

It is worth noting the visit was concluded by a tour of some faculty buildings and facilities.

Al-Quds University has built a wide range of international networks with many prestigious universities and research institutions around the world. The university employs these relations in developing its academic and research programs, and providing study and research exchange opportunities that benefit AQU’s students and students from partner countries.
