Faculty of Science & Technology

Thank you for your interest in the Department of Physics at Al-Quds University.  Our department has a strong record of research involvement and achievements as well as a dedication to providing a personally tailored educational experience to both our undergraduate and graduate students.  Our goal is to prepare our undergraduates to succeed in any physics graduate program or to flourish in industry or in teaching if that is their choice. We continually re-examine our undergraduate curriculum to make it current and relevant in today's ever-changing world, so it can give our majors a thorough grounding in the basic principles and methods of physics, with opportunities for independent research.

The Department strives to offer a range of courses on topics in physics that are particularly appropriate for students of the medical field, engineering, science and technology; provide the physics training required by students majoring in other disciplines; encourage original research by faculty and students and the improvement of pedagogical methods; and provide a supportive work environment for students, staff, and faculty.

The department is involved in research programs in accelerator & radiation physics, biophysics, colloids and soft condensed matter, laser physics, nuclear & particle physics, space plasma physics, solid state physics, renewable energy and atmospheric physics.

Many of our graduate students have teaching assistant ships which they fulfill by providing assistance in teaching laboratories and by giving discussion sessions to our large classes.
