No website information can capture the true spirit of a learning institution, unless one witnesses the academic atmosphere which makes this place unique. Al-Quds medical school was established in 1994 and has made big strides in the development of medical education at the undergraduate level.
Its mission encompasses teaching, research and community service. It aims to foster self-perpetuating learning, leadership qualities and ethical behavior in line with our cultural heritage. There have been momentous changes in medical education since the turn of the century and new paradigms of learning have been formulated to meet the modern needs of health care delivery. Although there is no clear proof that the new curricula are producing better quality doctors, Al-Quds medical school has promulgated many of these educational principles. However, it is our policy to ground our students in the basic medical sciences with the possibility of offering, after the first three years, a bachelor degree in the basic medical sciences-BMedSc.
Although the research culture is still in its fledgling stage, the infrastructure is being laid to make it a priority in the coming years.
The competitive admission criteria to the medical school can be a harrowing experience, yet it fulfills the aim of selecting the best candidates suitable for the noble profession of medicine.
