GREECE

Piraeus University of Applied Sciences, 12/01/2015

I am writing to you in my capacity as Professor of Economics, at the School of Management and Economics (Department of Business Administration) at the Technological Education Institute of Piraeus, Greece (http://www.teipir.gr/index.php/en/), in order to express our interest in the possibility of developing a close relationship with Universities from Palestine.

Up until recently, there was an autonomously functioning Department of Tourism in my Institution and I was a member of its staff, however, due to the educational reforms that have recently taken place in Greece, the Department of Tourism Management has merged with other Departments. This means that it is now part of the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Management and Economics, offering a programme of studies which has three directions: Business Administration, Tourism Business and Marketing.

As you probably already know, the call for the Erasmus+ for the *Key Action 2: Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices Capacity-building projects in the field of higher education* ( https://eacea.ec.europa.eu/erasmus-plus/funding/key-action-2-capacity-building-in-field-higher-education-2015_en) has recently been issued.

I would like to express my interest in cooperating with Universities from Palestine as partner if they plan to participate with a project in this program according to the national priorities of your country.

The projects (among others 4 Tempus projects) we were involved in have recently been added to my attached CV. I would also like to add that my Department as well as my Faculty is willing and have the necessary means and previous experience to participate in projects whose scope is not limited to Tourism but cover other aspects of economic and social development and science. It is evident that, apart from the above, we would be open to other possibilities that could prove beneficial for both parts.

For the purposes of this letter, I am sending you a short profile of my University as well as my curriculum vitae in brief. I would like to express my interest in cooperating with Universities from Palestine as partner if they plan to participate with a project and if the profile of my University suits them.

I would also like to ask you kindly to forward the content of this e-mail to Universities of your country.

Thank you in advance.

Yours sincerely,

M.K
