Welcome

Agriculture in world industrial countries is regarded as a basic means of support for the stabilization of the State and Society, as it is relied upon for the fulfillment of the major needs of food consumption and protection of the prices of the local market.

The treatment of agricultural products and their transformation from one form into another, in addition to diminishing the wastage from agricultural products, thereby enriching the nutritional value of these products and insuring their availability in the local markets, is considered as a vital corner-stone that any state cannot ignore and cannot do without, unless through the treatment of nutritional elements in scientific and technological ways.

Al-Quds University is proud to be the first Palestinian University to establish a Food Technology Department in 1994 whose objective is to participate in the process of economic development and progress in the Palestinian State in the food industrial sector through the training and rehabilitation of academic categories that are able to develop these industries and to produce healthy food items for the Palestinian consumer.

The Department of Food Technology graduates students who are being employed in different fields such as government departments, ministries, food plants, laboratories for chemical & microbial food analysis. They help in undertaking projects designed to develop and produce a variety of food items and in participating in teaching at different schools and other institutions in the country.

You are cordially invited to visit our department and thereby get acquainted with its programs and be introduced to our teaching staff.
