Bachelor Degree in Information Technology - Networks and Communications

Effective AY 2007/2008

Objective: To facilitate computing theories, concepts and insides into real world systems in different academic, research, and development fields.

Admission: Tawjehi 80%.

Selection of Second Discipline: This degree is application oriented. Students must select a second discipline as an area of application. Students must attend orientation sessions in order to learn more about the program and areas of application.

Transfer: Only students from Science & Engineering Faculties may transfer to Information Technology. Interested students must apply to the department and include the latest transcripts report. The department will decide regarding the courses that can be transferred.

Relation to Computer Science: While Computer Science and Computer Engineering disciplines focus on the theoretical and core concepts of computing on both branches software and hardware, the Information Technology discipline focuses on employment of such studies into real environments. Therefore, the delivery and content of Information Technology courses will be application oriented and shifted towards real-world applications.
