History
The first university council was formed and held its first meeting on February19, 1994.
Membership
Functions
The Council establishes general operating university policies. It publishes and enforces internal laws and instructions. It discusses university budgets and closing accounts, prepares university regulations and projects, and reviews the President's annual reports, to be forwarded to the Board of Trustees for approval. The Council discusses and approves university policy with regard to student affairs and activities. It recommends to the Board of Trustees the total number of students to be accepted annually. The Council also studies regulations, plans and suggestions forwarded to it by university committees and faculty or departmental councils and takes appropriate decisions regarding them, and looks into other related matters put forward by the President.
